Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson is an Mexican singer and musician born into a musical family. She spent the majority of her early years listening to music from the past and boleros of the past, traditional ranchero or romantic music along with classic classical music. Ana loves tangos as well drama and opera. Her mother taught her to sing, however she started intensive vocal training by Flavio Belcerra when she was just 16 years old. Belcerra was an internationally acclaimed Mexican opera tenor. Her musical education continued at the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and afterward at the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. Her early professional career was spent performing with various orchestras, chamber ensembles, and opera choirs and chamber groups in Guadalajara. After relocating to the United States in 2000, she joined the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus before making the move to her current place in southern California. She currently performs classic Latin American songs at private concerts as a singer. Passion and enthusiasm for art, music, and performing keep her engaged with many local organizations as a performer and teacher. Ana was also a member of the Community Chorus of Redlands. The Inland Master Chorale. and the Performance Loft. Ana finds it a privilege to be able to bring to others her passion for the traditional Latin American music. She hopes that this will encourage younger generations to keep the tradition alive.
