Ky-Mani Marley was an extremely popular Reggae Singer for many years. Born in Falmouth Jamaica, he was among the richest and most popular. He was a part of Shottas, a cult film opposite Wyclef. Ky-Mani signed with Shang Records for his 1996 debut Like Father Like Son album and singles such as Judge Not (with Patra), Dear Dad", (which was the most popular song on the British reggae chart),"Who the Cap (remix), Sensimelia and others all contributed to the growing recognition of the new reggae of his generation. Ky-Mani as well as Praswell from the Fugees joined together in 1997 and recorded Avenue which was a cover of Eddy Grant's Electric Avenue. Marley was the first performer to perform on stage at Midem in Miami which was an international festival of music. In Midem's Cameo Theatre Marley performed a set which was aired live on air by the Caribbean News Agency to 36 countries. Marley's name was the subject of a bid war. In 1997, he was signed to Gee Street/V2 Records where he collaborated with his labelmate P.M. Dawn who was the lead singer on Gotta be Movin on up. Bob Marley's wife Anita Belnavis, a table tennis champion, is his only parent. Ky-Mani was born in Jamaica and is among the greatest Reggae artists.
